Presenter: "I can't do this. I'm useless. I'll never be good enough." Do any of these thoughts sound familiar?

Over time, negative thoughts like these can do real damage to our confidence and self-worth and can cause stress to build. So in this video, let's take a look at two ways to encourage positive thinking.

First, write down any negative thoughts while they're fresh in your mind. Often, these thoughts fleet in and out of our heads, doing their damage before we have a chance to confront them.

Then, read them back and challenge them. Ask yourself, are they reasonable or rational? Are they even true?

Secondly, replace these negative thoughts with positive affirmations. In other words, change the conversation. Instead of telling yourself, "I'm no good at this," say, "I'm confident in my skills and knowledge and I'm well-prepared to do an excellent job." With practice and dedication, you can replace your negative thoughts with positivity.
