How to Really Motivate People How to REALLY Motivate People
What keeps you - or your people - motivated to come to work each day? Is it the desire to do the best job you can in a role that you love, or are you chasing a bumper end-of-year bonus?

People's motivations vary hugely, from salary or the fear of job loss, to personal values and pride in a job well done. You can explore all these motivators, and more, with our articles, Pink's Autonomy, Mastery and Purpose Framework and Motivation.

Also, you can discover how to create an organizational culture that embraces the values that motivate today's job seekers with our article, Goffee and Jones' DREAMS.

A Final Note

The "carrot and stick" approach to motivation may be unfashionable, but it still has its followers. Today, though, the key to attracting and retaining good people is to appeal to what really inspires them, and that means exploring "intrinsic" rather than "extrinsic" motivators.

Next week, you can learn how to be a faster, more efficient reader, and you can explore strategies for developing your critical thinking skills.

Have a great week!
