I know people say that Christmas comes earlier each year, but it really does seem too soon to be thinking about it already. I’m not sure I like walking the seasonal supermarket aisle with Halloween goods on one side, and Christmas confectionery on the other.
For one thing, it has been giving my daughter ideas. She announced last week that she wants a new scooter for Christmas. Not just one new scooter, in fact, but two.
When I asked how she could possibly ride a Monster Kickboard and an MC Trixx scooter at the same time, she calmly told me, “Mummy, I just can’t decide which one I like best. I’ll have both.”
It’s hard being seven years old!
I did try talking her through some of the Decision Making Techniques in the Mind Tools™ resources. Decision Matrix Analysis is especially useful for comparing a number of good alternatives, but in the end, I was forced to abandon the analysis when my daughter wandered off to play with her loom bands.
Perhaps I’ll tell her to toss a coin, instead!
