Avoiding or Handling Breakdown Your Stress Diary

Planning to Manage Stress

We operate best at an optimum stress level: not having enough stress leaves us feeling bored and lethargic. Having too much stress damages our performance in the short term, and can lead to unhappiness, exhaustion, burn-out and serious illness in the long term.

It may not initially be obvious what causes you stress, whether you are effective in controlling it, or what your optimum stress level is.

The next articles in this section explains how to find out the causes of stress in your life, and how to plan to control them.

Highly Recommended Books

For an excellent book on stress management, try The Book of Stress Survival - How to Relax and Live Positively by Alix Kirsta. This is a very pleasant, well-presented, sensible approach to stress management. It covers many important areas completely ignored by most other books.
