Advanced Mega Memory

A Nightingale-Conant Corporation product
by Kevin Trudeau

Reviewed by Kellie Fowler

Founded in 1960 by Lloyd Conant (direct mail expert and fulfillment business owner) and Earl Nightingale (well-known motivational radio talk host), the Nightingale-Conant Corporation is the world’s largest producer of self-improvement audio products and programs. In its Advanced Mega Memory course, Nightingale-Conant utilizes six double-sided audiocassette tapes and an hour-long video to deliver the most comprehensive course on long-term memory improvement I have ever seen.

This course also includes a valuable workbook packed with useful exercises that help to illustrate and reinforce the lessons presented on the tapes, with important definitions and concepts highlighted throughout.

"Well worth the time and commitment..."

Designed by Kevin Trudeau, founder of the American Memory Institute and an authority on memory improvement training, this course is admittedly lengthy and involved, but well worth the time and commitment required to see it through to the end. In fact, I can honestly say that upon completing the course, I easily remembered long numbers and previously hard-to-remember names. While I have not tried to utilize my newly-learned skills to become a “card sharp,” a skill the course promises for all those who play blackjack, bridge or poker, I have used Trudeau’s techniques to remember important day-to-day information, including information and events that are crucial to my well-being and the well- being of my growing business.

"This product replaced my tough armor of skepticism with die-hard belief..."

Again, I used the audiocassette tapes primarily in my car, during commutes and errand running. I then put the information and techniques detailed on the tapes to use in the appropriate lessons outlined in the workbook. Often times, a day or even two would lapse between hearing the tapes and completing the related exercises in the workbook (perhaps this was my own personal test of memory improvement). As I progressed through the course, this became easier and easier, eventually removing all doubt I had about this product with outstanding claims. You see, as a journalist, I am generally skeptical of products such as this one. Even so, this product replaced my tough armor of skepticism with die-hard belief.

"I have reveled in the delight that comes with remembering names with little effort..."

Since using Nightingale-Conant’s Advanced Mega Memory, I have enjoyed working the room at crowded events and reveled in the delight that comes with remembering names with little effort. I have also enjoyed applying these useful techniques to my business, instantly improving my memory recall in almost every single area.

In summary, I strongly recommend this product. Do not shy away from it because of its length or seemingly demanding involvement. Instead, take it one tape at a time and you will very quickly start seeing results. I relied on these results to act as a motivator for completing the next tape or segment in the workbook with little self-resistance. And, before I knew it, I was looking forward to the next tape and to mastering the skills and techniques detailed by Trudeau.

Nightingale-Conant currently publishes and/or distributes more than 150 authors and over 1,400 titles in five key areas: Personal Development, Business Strategy, Sales and Marketing, Wealth Building, Skills and Learning, and Mind, Body, Spirit.

The Memletics Accelerated Learning
Program

Reviewed by James Manktelow, CEO, MindTools.com

The Memletics Accelerated Learning Program is designed to help you fundamentally improve the way in which you learn.

It does this by teaching important techniques for researching, screening, assimilating and reviewing information in a highly efficient and effective way.

The program comes as an Adobe Acrobat e-book, downloadable from the Memletics.com site. The e-book is well-produced and organised, and is both easy to use and navigate.

“An Authority and Importance That Marks it Out...”

The author (Sean Whitely) has long experience of using Memletic techniques in mission-critical situations. He shows deep knowledge of the subject that shows through everywhere within the course. Research quoted is deep, thorough, current and credible, giving the program an authority and importance that marks it out in the field.

The course is organized into five sections that take you step-wise through the Memletics Program. These sections cover:

1. The Memletic State: “Putting Yourself in the Best Position for Learning”

The section on the Memletic State helps you to ensure that you are best positioned for effective learning.

It starts by explaining everything that you need to know about brain nutrition, with plenty of practical techniques and tips for putting yourself in the best position for good learning. One of the pleasures of this section is the responsible way in which it discriminates between proven supplements and those that still do not have US FDA approval.

It is also effective in reminding us of the importance of taking exercise so that our brains stay healthy and get plenty of oxygen, further improving our learning ability.

The section goes on to show how to pick the best times of day for effective learning. After this, it introduces a range of practical techniques for maintaining concentration and resisting the stress and distraction that can sabotage mental performance.

2. The Memletic Process: “A Practical and Efficient System For Memorizing Information”

Sean then shows us how to use the Memletic Process. This is a thorough, practical and efficient system for researching, screening, assimilating, memorizing and reviewing information. Using this approach helps you to optimize your learning and keep information fresh and available in your mind.

As elsewhere in the course, he shows clearly how the techniques he teaches fit easily with the way our brains work. Building on this, he recommends many useful approaches to memorizing and reviewing information.

3. Memletic Techniques: “A Comprehensive Review of Useful Systems”

Next, the program gives a comprehensive, well-presented and wide-ranging review of mnemonic techniques and systems. As well as this, it gives good advice on the best ways to use other techniques like simulation, role-playing, practice and rehearsal. By reading this section, you can identify and use the best tool available for the learning situations you find yourself in.

A final section of this module explains common problems with mnemonics, and how to avoid them.

4. Memletic Styles: “Designing Mnemonics That Suit Your Learning Profile”

Sean then explains how we all have different preferred approaches to learning information. He avoids the simplistic traditional approach to learning styles used by many, explaining a more sophisticated, credible approach that helps you design mnemonics that best suit your own unique learning profile.

5. Memletic Approach:

He then concludes with ‘the Memletic Approach’, a framework within which the Memletics system operates. This drives the setting of learning goals, and a process for monitoring learning progress.

This section and the chapter that follows seem a little weak after the strength of the preceding sections, however so much value is delivered early in the course that this does not really matter.

Conclusion:

This is one of the best sources of well-researched information on memory optimization and accelerated learning that I’ve come across. It is authoritative, thorough and detailed, and packed with practical, useful information that will help you improve the quality of your learning.

If you are looking to improve your memory and accelerate your learning, then I strongly recommend that you look at Memletics in more detail. Click here to find out more...
