Brainstorming
Equipment
As well as software tools, other brainstorming
equipment can help you run successful brainstorming sessions.
While these other brainstorming tools may not be as complex
or advanced as some of the brainstorming tools used to organize
and manage your brainstorming efforts, they are just as important.
Flip Charts and Colored Markers
Flip charts are one of the other brainstorming
tools that can be very beneficial to a brainstorming session.
By putting a large flip chart on an easel with markers of varying
colors nearby (or multiple flip charts throughout a room, for
larger groups) you can take notes and "mind map" throughout
the brainstorming process. If you want to keep track of who
is putting what into the brainstorming session, you can use
a different color marker for each member of the brainstorming
team.
An Overhead Projector
One of the other brainstorming tools you may
want to consider is an overhead projector. An overhead projector
can be very beneficial if a large group of people are brainstorming
together. The projector can help all members of the brainstorming
team see the progress of the session and the notes being made
as the brainstorming is in process.
Adequate Accommodations
While furniture and proper accommodation may
not seem like they belong on a list of other brainstorming tools
to consider, they are actually a very important part of the
brainstorming process. A nice room with comfortable furniture
are conducive to the brainstorming process, whereas a cramped
room with uncomfortable furniture will impede the brainstorming
efforts.
By adding these other
brainstorming tools to your list, you can ensure that you are
adequately supplied and prepared for your brainstorming session.
