In
this newsletter, I'm very proud to introduce you to the "Career
Excellence Club" - Mind Tools new members area!
Over the last 10 years of Mind Tools, I've really enjoyed talking with subscribers. People have told us about articles they've enjoyed, things they'd like to see, skills they'd like to learn, problems they're experiencing and issues they want to solve.
The more we've talked, the more it has become clear how much people want to take charge of their own careers, but feel held back from achieving their full potential by the lack of training, support and opportunity available.
That's why, early this year, we started work building the Mind Tools community.
Introducing the Career Excellence Club!
This project comes to fruition today, with the official launch of the Mind Tools Career Excellence Club! With nearly 100 founder members already on board, the Club's already buzzing with new resources and discussions, all focused on helping you make the very most of your life and career. So read on and find out more!
Much more than a community web site, the Club brings you a whole new set of resources of the quality and range you’d expect from Mind Tools. The discussion forums provide a place to exchange ideas and get support from like-minded members and resident experts. Our regular “Book Insights” and “Expert Interviews” (in MP3/podcast format for listening on your PC or iPod) keep you up-to-date with expert opinion and the very latest thinking. And with our “Bite-Sized Training” and “Coaching Clinics” we help you, week-by-week, build the skills and mindset you need to make the very most of your life.

The “Work’s No Fun Anymore” Coaching Clinic is led by Mind Tools Coach Sharon Juden. Exploring this all-too-common work issue, she guides us through a 5-step coaching exercise to help members bring fun back into their working lives. An in-depth discussion involving members and Sharon has already started, and is helping people find perspective and better enjoy their jobs.
In the “Beating Workplace Bullying” Expert Interview, I talk with Dr Gary Namie, a leading expert in the shockingly widespread problem of bullying, which often affects the brightest and best in the workplace. Dr Namie is a great interview guest, and does an excellent job of explaining what bullying is, as well as showing us how to tackle it.
“Prioritization” is the subject of the latest Bite-Sized Training, in which Mind Tools trainer Dianna Podmoroff helps members learn, step-by-step, how to prioritize intelligently and make prioritization part of their everyday work routine.
You can also join the members' discussions in the Career Café forum (or start ones of your own.) Recent discussions include: “How can facilitators encourage difficult change?”; “Managing small teams”; “Favorite quotes”; and many more.
