Emma Law works for an insurance company as a performance coach. She started using Mind Tools when she was looking for online help with a coaching qualification she was studying for.

"I looked at the basic site and saw that it was referring to other tools and articles that you had to be a member to access," she recalls. "I found the tools that I could already access really useful, so I decided that paying for membership to have access to everything would definitely be of benefit."

She says that this has proven to be the case, as she often refers to Mind Tools as part of her day-to-day job.

"Whilst we've got our own skills and tools that we use as a company, I always think if it's not quite working I've got Mind Tools there. So I can perhaps try a different tool that I wasn't aware of or just get a bit more information so I can then share that, or use that, going forward. So it's very much been an addition to some of the tools that we already have," she says.

Emma believes Mind Tools may have helped her win her company's Contributor of the Month award.

"It definitely went on my personal evidence for what I'm doing externally to build myself," she says.

The Mind Tools feature she enjoys most is the forums, from which she gets two main benefits.

"I can put any issues I'm having out there, if I want any advice or suggestions. But I can also support the other people on the forum. It's kind of a way of using my coaching skills online," she explains.

She's particularly impressed by how much the Mind Tools team gets involved in discussions.

"If I was to put a thread on there, they will always respond to it really quickly and add their thoughts to it, which I thought was really good. It's not just left to its own devices for other members to go on to. It's very much a managed site, which is fantastic," she asserts.

So what would be her advice for people thinking of joining the Club?

"I'd say definitely go for it," she declares. "People might be thinking it's just about leadership skills or something. But in actual fact, it's not. It's really broad and offers help for anything you'd be wanting to do with your direct reports or anything you'd be wanting to do to develop yourself. There's ideas, articles – everything that you would need."
